Perception of young travelers of risk management in Indonesia.

ABSTRACT:
For the past few years, Indonesia has suffered serial terrorism attack, spread throughout the country. The situation had force the industry to take extreme precaution and extra preparation for the pre and post terrorism attack. Marketing strategy has planned for the recovery in the tourism industry by focusing the matter into the youth travellers that has a high adventure and low budget to prevent shun of the tourist arrival.

Purpose – This study were to (1) Examine the attitudes of Asian Youth Travellers towards the awareness and the acceptance of the security measure. (2) To examine the effect of level of security in destination, as pull factor. (3)To provide the full range of risk management for tourist from pre-arrival, during staying until departure

Design/methodology/approach – Quantitative survey using minimum 200 respondents of Young Asian Travellers

Findings – Asian youth generally has a high collectivism attitude which is due to family concern, safety reason and leisure purposes, Responses on the safety procedures are positive and their concern about safety level is positive even that the result show that there is no high concern on safety procedures and safety concern too.

Research limitations/implications – Marketing will play a role on attracting the tourist and creating image for the country which is not further explored in this research.
